To establish a programme for the critical edition of the works of Gregory of Nazianzus, an interdisciplinary team of specialists was brought together at the Institut orientaliste of the Université catholique de Louvain in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). Over the last 15 years, the initial group has been enlarged and enriched through the collaboration of Austrian, British, Dutch, Georgian, German and Greek colleagues; close relationships are also maintained with colleagues in France, Italy, Lebanon, the United States etc. The Centre for Gregory of Nazianzus Studies, recognized by the Université catholique de Louvain since 1990, co-ordinates the work of the various teams and ensures the publication of their results in a collection specially created for this purpose: the Corpus Nazianzenum.
